April 2010
Another tour is behind us. This month, we retread a few familiar places - London, Madrid and Paris - and broke some new ground. We met wonderful people everywhere we went, and we're already laying the groundwork for our next outing, which will hopefully happen in the fall. This time: More of Spain and more of France.
We'd like to extend a special thanks to Luther Russell for rocking with us across the continent. He played drums for us and also featured his own music at most shows. We love it, and you can expect more collaborations soon.
But first, we're going to tackle the USA's west coast. In July, we'll start in L.A. and work our way north to Portland. More on this soon.
New Yorkers should stop by the Cameo Gallery in Brooklyn this Thursday 4/29. We're playing with the awesome experimental rock juggernaut Finn Riggins. This will most likely be our last show in NYC for a while.
In the meantime, we'd like to invite you, again, to download our new EP, The Dark Lord (of Love) at iTunes, Emusic and many other online outlets the world over. Then, tell your friends. You'd be surprised how much a simple Tweet or AIM recommendation can do for a little 'ole band like us.
Join us on Facebook for regular updates. Twitter works, too. And, for in-depth analysis of WWM goings on, check out the blog.

Patrick and Darren

The new year is still new, but we're not wasting musch time, unless you count watching each new episode of Lost several times.
We've finally put the finishing touches on The Dark Lord (of love) EP, and a limited number is available for pre-order now. We really hope you like this one. Darren and Patrick worked hard to simplify (and expand) the scope of what we do. Be sure to let us know what you think!
There are also three shows on deck before we leave for tour. If you live in the greater NYC area, we'd love to see you. We're especially excited about our March 4th show at Union Hall. Lots of surprises for this one.

TOUR: FIN!
July / 09
Hi!
As many of you know, Patrick Bower & The World Without Magic have been working hard on many fronts:
* Recording a new record, Patrick Bower & The World Without Magic, which is currently up on iTunes and Emusic!
* Planning a supporting European tour.
* Playing some NYC shows. Most recently, we played a fund-raising dinner at The Patio, where 15 of us dined on the delicious foods of Grace Cho and Katja Bartholmess. Check out the pictures here!
We've been doing other things to raise money to support the overhead involved in booking this tour, manufacturing cds and merchandise, etc, which is a model that many artists have been adopting in the wake of the ailing music industry, including Patrick Wolf, who funded his entire last record with fan support. Thanks to all of you who have donated so far!!
There's still a great need, and I'd like to ask all of you to donate a few dollars (everything counts!) and to ask your friends and co-workers to do the same. No, it's not a real charity, but supporting the music you love helps to ensure that you'll continue to see more action from your favorite artists. Plus, it's fun to band together for something cool.
Here are a couple of easy things you can do:
* Send an email to your co-workers, describing what we're doing. Tell them to paypal money to patrickbowermusic@gmail.com. Or, you can collect a few dollars from each and dontate yourself!
* The next party or bbq you throw, play our record and take a moment to pass a bucket around asking for change for the cause.
* Donate a portion of your garage or stoop sale.
* Like to cook? Have a bake sale!
For any of these events, contact us, and we'll do our best to help and support your efforts by playing, donating merchandise or whatever might be needed.
We'd love to hear from you - Feel free to email your thoughts and ideas to us anytime!
Yours,
Patrick Bower & The World Without Magic
